About OGchat – Our BDSM Twitter Chat

Thank you for stopping by, and welcome to OGchat. This is a welcoming and inclusive community for people to discuss and learn about various BDSM topics for one hour a week. Every Thursday, at 3 PM Eastern, 12 PM Pacific, OGchat presents an hour long conversation for people who are interested in kink, fetish, sex, sexuality. Many weeks have a special guest moderators who come in and talk about a topic they are passionate about or feel is important or beneficial. How The Chat Works

Most weeks, the chat will have five questions on a specific topic. Information about the moderator and their specialization is given, and the questions are presented in both text and on graphics. The sponsors for the chat will be announced, and people will engage in conversation. In some cases, there are multiple conversations about different questions presented in the chat happening at once, and this is normal. There are sex educators, sex-positive people, sex toy companies, people who work in the adult entertainment industry, and many who are curious about BDSM for a variety of reasons. OGchat brings a welcoming and inclusive environment to the chat, and ask the participants to the same. Every 10 to 12 minutes, a question will be presented and moderator and participants of the chat will engage on the topic. There are many topics in BDSM, and if you would like to see one, let us know! Whenever possible, we will do an interview of the moderator and posted on the website, and/or have them for a guest blog.

About OGchat – How To Participate

In order to actively engage in conversation, you will need a Twitter account. As the questions are asked they will have a specific format that includes both the graphic and text that begins with Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, and Q5. Ideally, answering each one of these questions with the letter A and the correlating number helps to keep things clean. That said, sometimes multiple conversations are going on at once and topics can overlap or move to other related questions and topics. This is natural. More important, each tweet and response should include the hashtag #OGchat so that everyone in the chat can see what you are posting. When you sign on Thursday at 3 PM Eastern Time, do a search for #OGchat, and update that search to follow along and see what people are saying. The initial question posts will also have the hashtag #OGchatQuestion, so you can find them easily and join the conversation.

What About Other Days?

OGchat is active on Twitter seven days a week. We will be posting quotes, with permission, from participants. In addition, we will be revisiting some of the older OGchat questions on a rotation to continue awareness and give more attention to our moderators after their chat. This rotation of posts will help keep topics fresh and conversation going. Feel free to share these posts, as well as posts about our sponsors, interviews, and other blogs on the website. Moderating OGchat

First, major thank you for stopping by and checking out OGchat. We have a lot of fun and educational things planned over the next year and are looking forward to being straightforward and organizing well to meet our goals. The mission of OGchat is to help spread knowledge and information about BDSM and other lifestyles and relationship types. The main focus will be on BDSM, however. If you are interested in being a moderator for our BDSM Twitter chat, OGchat, there are a few things we want to communicate straightaway.

What Is OGchat For BDSM Twitter

OGchat is a BDSM Twitter chat that is currently offered one day a week. People with Twitter accounts, including sex positive people, sex educators, companies, brands, podcasts, and people who are interested in sex and sexuality can come to respectfully share their thoughts and engage in conversation. This can involve controversial topics, topics that people have expressed an interest in learning more about, and topics of interest to the moderators and the group. Opening Gateways is the owner of the chat, and hosts regular BDSM events and classes, in addition to having a blog and upcoming podcasts. Parker Rose, of Opening Gateways, brings over a decade of experience in the adult entertainment industry, and has been an active part of the BDSM community for even longer. They are open to any pronouns you want to use and are excited to start this new adventure. Parker will likely be your main contact and has a large amount of experience running other Twitter chats. Feel free to approach with any questions you have after reading this blog.

What OGchat Is Looking For

OGchat is looking for moderators, sponsors, and people to be active in the chat. Moderators will need to put together five questions that have a theme, and the theme will be marketed on both the Opening Gateways and OGchat Twitter accounts. We are happy to assist you in coming up with topics and questions for your chat. If you are able, a short video call to connect is beneficial, though much of the contact can be done through email. OGchat is looking to schedule up to three months or more in advance of the chat, with the topic chosen upon scheduling a date. Your name and the date you are scheduled for will be posted on the OGchat website so people can added to their calendars and make sure to come. There is a lot of excitement to scheduling moderators and coming up with topics, and in many cases the questions and topics can be set up within two weeks of scheduling.

How The Chat Works For Moderators

Twitter chats are fast-paced, and a ton of fun. Questions will be introduced approximately every 10 to 12 minutes, with information about the moderators being presented. In most cases, we will want to do a short interview and put together a short bio for a website. We are also excited when moderators decide to a guest blog on our website, and are happy to link to their Twitter pages and websites in most cases. OGchat is looking to foster relationships between people to expand sex education and awareness through the kink community and beyond. We are happy to post the questions and the graphics from our OGchat page, and can also discuss with you if your preference is to post them from your own page. OGchat will be available via DM during the BDSM Twitter chat and before if you have any questions, and we will send you an overview that is more detailed and includes tips for successful chat before the chat happens.

What Are The Benefits Of Moderating

Branding and getting the word out are both fantastic benefits, and there are others as well. Interviews and guest blogs that are posted on the website, as well as on Opening Gateways if that is the preference, will be linked to and added to a rotation our twitter accounts and beyond. In addition, when there are fantastic quotes and we have permission, we will create graphics and tag both the people who said the quote and you, the moderator, and added to the rotation as well. We would like people and companies to see long-term benefits from moderating our chats. In some cases, moderators may choose to become sponsors. The Process And Recommendations – Part One

While there are some events and circumstances that will happen in the weeks before your chat, we recommend getting your questions and topics in, and scheduling a date, at least a month in advance. If a current event comes up that you are incredibly interested in covering, we can look to save your already submitted questions and topic for later date. Providing this window of four weeks gives us peace of mind and helps us get the proper marketing and information out to fans as soon as we can. We will choose a topic and get some questions put together, as well as graphics, just in case we have a cancellation and are looking for someone to jump in.

The Process And Recommendations – Part Two

There will be some email conversation back and forth before the chat happens, as we are putting things together. We are also looking to put together some videos for people who prefer tips and information on that medium. From you, OGchat will look to get a bio, description, pictures when possible, and applicable links for the marketing. After, we can discuss doing an interview over email or via chat, and whether or not a guest blog is a good fit in terms of topics, time available, and more.
